International Call Through Service
No Internet connection is required.
One calls a local access number which prompts for an account number and PIN code to be entered. Once authenticated, a dial tone is heard at which any international number can be dialed as if dialing from a normal phone.
The total cost is the cost of the local access call plus the cost of the international call (at greatly reduced rates) giving one an attractive cost saving of up to 70%.
Account balance and call history can be viewed online by logging in with the same account number and PIN code.
Access numbers exist for South Africa and the U.K. An access number for Australia will follow shortly.
By pre-registering one's landline and mobile number with Digital Indaba, we use these for authentication instead saving one having to enter one's account number and PIN code.
Subsequent calls can be made by entering # # (hash twice) at the end of each call.
